The Main Department of Anaesthesiology has existed at the hospital since 1994.
The state-of-the -art equipment of the department permits the use of the latest methods to eliminate pain by general or regional anaesthesia during operations.
The field of the anaesthesiology in our clinic results from the operational variety of different specialist areas.
A detailed advice and clarification ist given to the patients before planned anaesthesias in a consulting hour.
All usual anethesias are used. The department is responsible for the post operational pain service and the inpatient pain therapy as well.
With blood-saving measures, such as haemodilution in more major operations, we make an important contribution to reducing the frequency of external blood transfusions at the clinic.

In the post operational time individual care and monitoring for our patients are ensured in the awakening area and the following close control on the ward.
High-risk patients are cared on an
intermediate care ward  to ensure a 24-hour intensive monitoring.

Pain alleviation during births by means of peridural anaesthesia (PDA) is also carried out by our department. In addition, we use alternative treatment methods such as acupuncture.

The treatment of pain is another main area of our work
We have 4 inpatient places as well as an outpatient department.
