Pregnant women in distress

Unfortunately not every woman has the possibility to give birth to a child into an intact family and a safe environment.
The staff of the clinic (emergency phone:+49 (0)391 7262-140 - delivery ward)
and Caritas' employees in the "Network Life" (
"Netzwerk Leben") (Tel. +49 (0)391 4080512) provide women in distress a wide-ranging offer of advice and perhaps even of financial help.
Please do not be afraid to make contact, even in apparent hopeless situations.
Your inquiries are treated as strictly confidential.
Even an anonymous approach is possible.

For pregnantlies in an apparently hopeless situation who don't feel able to accept the expected child the youth welfare service (Jugendamt) is available for questions concerning adoption mediation or temporary mediation of foster-parents.

Unfortunately there are sporadically cases of by mothers in distress abandoned childs, who don't apprehended or couldn't apprehend any offer for help until birth.
In order to ensure to these unaccepted children a better and safe start to life, our clinic provides the possibility of anonymous birth.
The pregnant woman can betake herself for delivery to our clinic and give safe birth to her child without having to provide personal information.
The anonymously born child are consigned to care of foster-parents for 8 weeks. A time in which the mother can opt for offers for help and advice with the aim of accepting the child.
However even after this 8 weeks period is an accepting of the child possible, if the adoption procedure is not completed yet.

As last resort in case of non-acceptance of the child we established a baby hatch ("Babyklappe"/"Babynest").
The baby hatch can be only the last escape for women, who otherwise would decide to abandon the baby..

Please accept our offers for advice!
Even in an apparent hopeless situation at the moment, almost always a denouement  for you and your baby can be found.
